3 habits that help you commit to your music career and balance your life every day
It’s easy to get overwhelmed fast in the music biz. You’re juggling so many things at the same time and most of that time you feel like you don’t have enough time. Time, time time, it can drive us crazy and lead to sudden moments of panic or confusion. Sometimes you just don’t know what to do anymore.
Use these 3 tips to stay calm, in control and get ready to reach your goals both in music and in life!
1. Practice meditation every day to make sure you are mentally prepared and have a growth mindset
It’s not about what you need to do to book success, it’s about why you want to do it. What’s your purpose? That’s an internal process. Once you get a clear vision on that, the external things you need to do to support that purpose, will align more easily. Simply put, you need to have both feet firmly on the ground, all day err day.
I’m going to be honest, this is not something that magically happens overnight. It takes practice and patience and a whole lot of overcoming fears and anxieties.
Easy now, this doesn’t have to be hard. If you make it a habit of grounding yourself through meditation every day, you’ll start noticing you become more calm and focused. Lucky for you, you can do that in only 10 minutes with this guided meditation. Just sit and listen!
2. Define priorities and set clear goals - WITH deadlines
Goals are dreams with deadlines. If it’s not written down somewhere with a deadline, it’s not real and it’s not going to happen. Get real with yourself for just a minute here. I’m pretty sure there’s one or more areas in your life that crave your attention. Think about one thing you’ve always wanted to accomplish but haven’t gotten around to doing. Got one? Ok now, what’s your excuse for not doing it? Here’s a few you’ve probably told yourself in the past: I haven’t had the time yet, I was too busy doing other things, I didn’t have the resources, I’m not skilled enough. That list of excuses can go on and on.
Bottom line, you don’t need more time, or more resources or more skills, you just need to decide. Meaning, define priorities and set goals. This will help you balance all the different areas in your life with your DJ career so that you can enjoy everything stress-free.
3. Learn to troubleshoot issues in just 1 hour
